GOVERNMENT figures representing the damage inflicted by Typhoon Ulysses now stands close to P11 billion, says the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
At the Laging Handa press briefing, NDRRMC executive director Ricardo Jalad said damage to infrastructure due to Typhoon Ulysses has already spiked to P10.79 billion, adding that more or less 125,000 residences were destroyed after Ulysses pounded several provinces in Luzon, causing massive floods in various areas.
The NDRRMC added that an estimated one million families have been affected by Ulysses as it battered the regions of Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, National Capital Region, and Cordillera Administrative Region.
Fatalities stood at 73.
He added that the government has already provided more or less P200 million worth of assistance to the victims of the typhoon.
