TWO of the country’s biggest sports facilities have been placed under lockdown following reports that its personnel yielded positive results for COVID-19.
The Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila and the Philippine Institute of Sports Complex, also known as Ultra, in Pasig City were placed on lockdown to prevent further spread of the virus that has already infected around 140,000 Filipinos.
The lockdown will also give way for the effective contact tracing, disinfection and sanitation of the two sports facilities used in major local and international sporting events.
The advisory made no mention as to how long would the lockdown be.
Rizal Memorial Sports Complex has been the temporary shelter of thousands of locally stranded individuals while they waited for trips to their home provinces.
