No need for special permits for public vehicles as shuttle

By Fernan Angeles

BINANGONAN, Rizal – Public transportations that would be used to ferry employees bound for work need not apply for special permits, said municipal administrator Russel Callanta Ynares.

“Hindi na po kinakailangang mag-apply ng Special Permit ang mga pampublikong sasakyan na gagamitin ng mga pribadong kumpanya bilang shuttle service habang tayo ay nasa MECQ,” said Ynares in their LGU’s official Facebook page.

All that is required by their local government unit at the designated checkpoints is for the driver to present proof that they have been commissioned or hired by a private company to ferry their employees to and from their workplace.

Ynares also urged private companies to seriously consider tapping their local public transport drivers if only to help them earn some money while the entire Metro Manila and adjoining provinces are under strict modified enhanced community quarantine.

Interestingly, some of their town-based PUV drivers have managed to qualify the standards set by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, which maintains a database of operators and their contact details.
