Mark Avila: ‘Help my daddy beat colon cancer’

Gentleman of the World 2019 Mark Angelo Avila asked for everyone’s help after his father was diagnosed with cancer.
“Let us help my daddy beat colon cancer. God bless us all,” said Avila on Facebook on August 20.
Avila, who is also a semi-finalist on The Voice Philippines Season 2 Team APL and Tawag ng Tanghalan Defending Champion (March 10, 2020), made an emotional plea as he narrated his situation:
“A few weeks before, my father suddenly felt severe pain in the stomach area and after all the check up and multiple tests that have been conducted, my father was diagnosed with STAGE IV COLON CANCER which means the cancer in the colon has spread or metastasized to other tissues and organs such as the liver and the kidney;
“The doctor highly recommended for us to conduct Colectomy (removal of a part of the colon/large intestine), chemotherapy sessions and other procedures AS SOON AS POSSIBLE;
“We were asked to prepare at least an estimated amount of P1,000,000 to cover all the expenses of the said procedures. Honestly we don’t have the ability to cover such expenses. So please any amount will be highly appreciated because through your help we can SAVE MY FATHER’S LIFE;
“Ngayon lang po ako lalapit sa inyo. Gusto ko pa pong makasama ng matagal ang daddy ko. Gusto ko pa pong masuklian ang mga sakripisyong ginawa niya para sa amin. At gusto ko pa po maibalik yung pag-aalaga at pagmamahal na binigay niya sa amin. MAHAL NA MAHAL KO PO ANG DADDY KO;
