MARIVELES, Bataan – Unfazed by the threat of the dreaded coronavirus, Mayor Jocelyn P. Castañeda bravely ‘invaded’ Monday night the COVID-19 facility in barangay Alas asin to personally hand over hygiene kits to the patients.
Known for her being tough, Mayor Castañeda or ‘JoCas’ as fondly called by friends and relatives, distributed hygiene kits one by one to all the Covid patients, boosting the morale of the virus-infected individuals.
A lawyer-turned town politician, Mayor Castańeda was accompanied by Dr. Gerald Sebastian.
Once inside the facility, Mayor Castañeda patiently talked to the patients as she conducted ocular inspection to the comfort rooms (CRs) and found for herself that the CRs are actually clean, contrary to what was being floated that these are dirty.
She advised personnel inside to clean it daily, however.
“Dahil din dito napaglaman rin ng punong bayan ang ilan pang mga dapat isaayos at kailangan doon, gaya ng karagdagang imbakan ng tubig,” said the statement.
Mayor Castañeda also thanked the guards, LSB personnel who are patiently assisting the patients.
