LONG-TIME aide now Senator Bong Go proved to speak more of how the Malacañang chief executive thinks as President Rodrigo Duterte flew to Albay, just as he said the President would.
On Monday afternoon, the President led the aerial inspection of the hardest hit areas, then visited Guinobatan to meet local folks and inspect the traces left by super typhoon Rolly in the province.
Aside from Guinobatan, Duterte also had an aerial inspection over Catanduanes, the first province hit by the typhoon.
After going around the Gionabatan area, the President hinted on calling for an investigation into the alleged quarrying operations in the locality in the wake of the destruction caused by Typhoon Rolly.
“Papa-imbestigahan ng Pangulo ang quarrying sa Guinobatan. Nagreklamo ang mga residente,” Go told reporters in a message.
No other details were made available as to what compelled the President to call for an immediate probe but Go cited complaints of the residents regarding the alleged quarrying activities.
Following the inspection and meeting with the residents, the President will meet with concerned officials in a situation briefing to talk about the government’s response efforts for those affected by the calamity.
