WITH government health figures racking up statistics of COVID-19 infections, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) hinted at allowing mall-wide sales to draw more shoppers at these establishments.
In a public briefing on Monday, Oct. 20, DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez expressed concern on the low number of customers visiting malls during their reopening after suspension in light of the COVID-19 threat.
“Isa pa rin pong development, tungkol sa pagbabalik ng mga mall-wide sale, payagan ulit natin para ma-re-stimulate ulit ‘yung dami ng tao sa mall,” he said.
“Isang panghikayat ulit para sumigla ang ekonomiya ay payagan natin itong paggawa ng mga mall-wide sale o whether sa isang tindahan,’ he added.
Lopez however clarified that easing restrictions in malls would be complemented witrh the strict observance of health protocols in light of the COVID-19 threat.
