Bataan town ready to put up P452 million housing project

SAMAL, Bataan – True to her promise of establishing low-cost but decent housing for the Samaleños, Mayor Aida de Guia Macalinao is now working hand in hand with various government agencies and private developer to put up a projected 858 housing units worth P452 million in Sitio Pugad Lawin, barangay San Juan, this town.

To fast-track the housing project, Mayor Macalinao convened and called for an emergency meeting the other day with Raul H. Mamac, provincial environment and natural resources officer; representatives from private developer led by Mrs. Virginia C. Belencio, president of the United Home Dev. Foundation Inc.; officers of the San Juan home owners association, proponent of the project; and others.

To be funded by the Socialized housing finance corporation., the said housing project will benefit 858 poor families inside the 6.4 hectares lot, said Mayor Macalinao.

PENRO’s Mamac assured Mayor Macalinao of his full support for the documentation of the project, saying he will do all he can to fast-track it. “Tutulong ako sa inyo kung papaano mapadali at makakamura sa proseso,” Mamac told Macalinao.

For the immediate implementation of the project, Mayor Macalinao said she will also tap the help of Gov. Abet Garcia and Rep. Geraldine Roman who, she said, are very supportive of the housing program of Samal.
