ORANI, Bataan – Governor Abet S. Garcia ordered to speed up the construction of 1 Bataan COVID-19 Mega Processing Facility here.
Garcia said that the facility will cater to returning overseas Filipinos (ROF), locally stranded individuals (LSI), seafarers, and even special cases of authorized persons outside of residence (APOR).
When the governor personally inspected the facility, he said: “It is the priority of the provincial government to finish it immediately so it can be used by APORS, ROFs and LSIs.”
Garcia said the processing center is expected to be completed in one or two months. He is considered to be the biggest of its kind to rise in the province.
The four-storey building of the facility that was designed by Architect Henry Mayuga will have about 300 rooms complete with toilets.
It will also have a reception area, triage area, a kitchen, a huge parking lot, and an intricate waste facility.
The governor said the sudden increase of positive cases was traced to local transmission in the communities brought about by the influx in the province of ROF including seafarers, LSIs, and APOR.
The governor added that the completion of the mega facility will be the most appropriate measure to address the increasing number of infected.
