Bataan registers 310 COVID cases in 3 days alone

BATAAN CAPITOL – Bataan registered 310 cases of coronavirus for the last three days, bringing to 1,763 the total number of infected individuals in this province.

This was reported by Governor Abet S. Garcia who said that last September 12, Bataan recorded a total of 183, and Sept. 13, 56 and another 71 new cases last Sept. 14, the highest number of infected in three straight days since the Covid struck the world.

The total number of casualties has reached 26, while the total number of active COVID positive cases were 874.

Most of the infected individuals were from Mariveles, the most thickly-populated town in Bataan and site of the Freeport Area of Bataan.

Of the 17,661 persons tested for the virus, Garcia said that 15, 594 tested negative.

The total number of infected nationwide is 265,887 as of September 14, while the number of casualties reached 4,630, making the country the biggest number of infected in Southeast Asia.

In their bid to control the spread of the virus, Gov Garcia and Mayor Castańeda placed nine barangays in Mariveles under total lockdown for 14 days.

These barangays are: Balon Anito, Camaya, Ipag, San Isidro, Malaya, Maligaya, Poblacion, San Carlos, and Sisiman.
