SAMAL, Bataan – A Taiwanese investor is embarking on establishing the first state-of-art livestock farm in sitio Tasha, Barangay Imelda of this locality.
Mayor Aide de Guia Macalinao said that the state-of-the-art livestock farm takes pride as the first piggery which would be fully air-conditioned and operated using modern-day technology.
At the ground-breaking of the 33-hectare upland piggery farm, the Samal local chief executive underscored the need for local investments even as she welcomed Taiwanese national John Lu, and his son Johnson Lu, owners of the Green Era Bio-Tech Corp., for considering their locality for their business.
Mayor Macalinao and John Lu said the site is feasible, being accessible and there being no houses near the piggery farm. Incidentally, John Lu is not a newbie in the Philippines, having been in business for last 48 years, engaging on livestock and aqua-culture business in nearby Bulacan.
Interestingly, the Taiwanese traders boast of equipment, materials and ‘mother and father pigs’ coming from Denmark, even as they hinted on a unique style in piggery farming.
Asked what prompted them to invest in this town, the Lus said the local leaderships here are business-friendly, and that they were also impressed by the accessibility of the site with concreted road and is also near from Manila.
Mayor Macalinao immediately informed governor Abet Garcia about the project’s successful establishment, saying the investors need the support of the governor and the local leaders in this town.
“With the full support of Gov. Abet, we are optimistic that some more investors will pour in their investment in Samal,” pointed out Macalinao.
Mayor Macalinao said a total of P300M will be invested in the piggery farm, saying this will be a big boost to the economic development of this town.” They will hire local workers here,” said the mayor who was able to convince the Taiwanese trader to invest here.
“Our piggery farm will not only be hi-tech but also its environment will become clean; the piggery workers will be all require to take a bath before they enter into the premises. We’ll implement the sanitary protocol for our safety,” added the Ateneo-educated Johnson Lu.
