BATAAN – The provincial capitol under the leadership of Gov. Abet S. Garcia was cited as “best” in implementing locally-funded projects while Samal town took the top spot again for third consecutive months with 100 percent compliance rating, an unequalled performance by any other LGUs.
Myra Moral-Soriano, provincial director of Department of Interior and Local Government, said in her citation letter dated Sept. 24: “We are pleased to inform you that based on recent statistics provided by DILG Central office updating locally-funded projects in the SubayBAYAN portal, the province of Bataan has been cited as the Fourth Best performing province nationwide while the Municipality of Samal, Bataan is one of the municipalities that took the 1st spot with a compliance rating of 100 perccent for the month of August.”
Earlier, Samal town ranked first in the months of June and July for being 1st in the implementation of Local Government Support Fund-Assistance to Municipalities (LGSFAM) Salintubig and CMGP projects.

The DILG chief said she would like to extend their sincerest appreciation for all the hardwork and efforts of governor Garcia and Mayor Macalinao in the undertakings “despite the pandemic limiting our movements, your team has managed to stay committed in the accomplishments of our responsibilities.”
Governor Garcia has been, from time to time, instructing Provincial chief Engr. Ric Yuzon to implement according to its specifications all the infrastructure projects in Bataan and to ensure its quality and standard.
Mayor Macalinao, for her part, said that she was happy about the citation from DILG, saying this will further motivate her to buckle down to work to ensure the standard compliance of all the infra projects in Samal town.
