SORSOGON provincial government opted to lose down the Castilla District Hospital after a patient turned out positive for COVID-19.
Its public information office hinted at a patient as a close contact to another person who earlier died of the highly-infectious disease.
The provincial government did not say as to when the close down would last. However, the PIO issued a statement which says the provincial leaders, along with medical authorities would decide on how long the holiday would last after results of the mass testing among hospital personnel are released.
Only then would they be able to provide details on the re-opening of the hospital.
Healthcare workers and other hospital personnel are now in isolation. Those who had close contact with the infected patient will undergo swab test.
As of this posting, the Sorsogon PIO hinted on new COVID-19 cases. Two medical frontliners and a cop had just been tested positive for the virus.
