BATAAN CAPITOL – People are bound to get tired and err as an offshoot of exhaustion. With that in mind, the provincial government embarks on equipping front-liners manning the checkpoints with high-tech gadgets that would effectively monitor the ingress and egress, if only to make sure they get to minimize the spread of the coronavirus in the province.
In his statement, Governor Abet Garcia said: “One of our steps to intercept the continuous increase of COVID-19 cases in our province is to keep on looking out for checkpoints, to all entries and exit points in our province.”
Garcia’s statement came following a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Province of Bataan and Get Philippines, Inc. last August 19.
Get Philippines, Inc., Garcia said, has a mobile software application called “Get-Pass′′ designable which could be installed on gadgets for free, by anyone like workers, passengers, residents or visitors.
Owing to this, basic information on individuals can quickly raise their location, via Quick Response or QR Code. Using this system, the location of every individual entering Bataan is faster to monitor.
“Let’s aim to accelerate the process that our returning fellow countrymen like returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs), locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and authorized person outside residence (APOR),” the Governor pointed out.
Garcia assured that in the next few days “we will publish on social media accounts the detailed rules regarding the scheme.”
“Once again I am asking for your broader understanding and solidarity in our steps for the safety of us all against COVID-19,” Garcia quipped.
