There’s no stopping former Gwapulis Don McGyver Cochico in the insurance and investment institution!
Only five months into his new career, Cochico is making his presence felt as a successful financial advisor for Pru Life UK as he reaps recognition for his role in the life insurer company.
His recent awards: Top Rookie (Dragonstone Branch, July); Top Agent (Dragonstone Branch, July); Rookie High Flyers Club (only 1.4 percent of the rookies in Pru Like are able to achieve this); Senior Achievers Club (in the fourth month as a financial advisor);
Cochico has been upgraded to the Premiere Level Agent in his fifth month as financial advisor.

“Since pandemic, wala kaming physical awarding. Puro online lang ang recognition namin,” Cochico during an online chat. “Mahihirap na feat ito lalo five months pa lamang ako as a financial advisor.”
Cochico, 32, described the Rookie High Flyers Club Award as unique and difficult to achieve. “Once lumampas ka na ng 90 days (sa company), hindi ka na qualified dito. So for some na matagal ang improvement or hindi agad nakakapag-adapt sa sistema, hindi na ito mababalikan pa.”
“Kaya may mga agents din na magaling or gumaling na hindi yan nakuha kasi during the first 90 days lang yan makukuha ng agent,” the former police officer added.
The Top Agent award is given to an agent with the highest sales for one month. “That’s for the whole branch. Strong ang branch ko and sikat kasi nasa Top 3 kami nationwide.” On the other hand, the Top Rookie is given to a newcomer with the highest sales for the month.
Awardees usually receive travel and cash incentives, he said.
Asked what treat he would like to give to himself for the hard work, Cochico said: “Wala na siguro. I will continue doing this at the comfort of my home with my family. Basta maibibigay ko lang what’s best for my family, iyon na ang the best gift para sa sarili ko.”
Cochico has reminded the public of the importance of having life insurance. “You don’t buy life insurance because you are going to die, but because those you love are going to live.”

In May, Cochico officially announced on Instagram that he has switched careers.
His post read: “You cannot always wait for the perfect time, sometimes you must dare to jump. This 2020 I made the biggest jump of my life and joined Pru Life UK. It was definitely a leap of faith. Switching career is not part of the plan, but thank you God for being the driving force in my life and for giving me the courage to do what I do now. Thank you clients for believing in me! And to my future clients let’s do this together!” – Robert Requintina
