2 Bataan barangays placed under modified lockdown

MARIVELES, Bataan – Continuing surge of COVID-19 infections for the past few days compelled the local government to impose modified special concern lockdown on two densely-populated barangays in this locality.

In her Executive Order No. 43, Mayor Jocelyn P. Castañeda ordered the implementation of modified lockdown to barangays San Carlos and Poblacion from 12 a.m. of August 23 to 12 a.m. of August 25 due to alarming cases of coronavirus infections.

San Carlos has registered six new COVID-19 infections while Poblacion with 10 additional markers, bringing to 149 the total number of infected in this town as of August 22.

During the implementation of the lockdown, Mayor Castańeda ordered strict implementation on the ban on mass gatherings. She likewise took note on the importance of mandatory quarantine of all households while limiting movements to accessing basic commodities such as food, health services, cash withdrawals/ transfers to just one person per household.

Curfew hour from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. is also in effect, says the local chief executive who also underscored compliance to mandatory wearing of face masks, ear loop mask, face shields.

Senior citizens, persons with disability, pregnant or lactating mothers and persons with health conditions shall not be issued quarantine pass and permit to travel.

Persons ages from 0 to 20 and 60 years old above shall stay home unless it is an emergency.
