BACOLOD CITY – At least two barangay chairmen were tested positive for COVID-19, Vice Mayor Elcid Familiaran said.
Familiaran, who is also chair of the Inter-Agency Task Force for COVID-19 in this city, identified them as Banago chairman Ricky Mijares and Mansilingan chairman Boy Pico.
Pico said that he underwent a swab test Friday after feeling antecedent symptoms of the deadly disease. After receiving confirmatory test results Sunday night, he and his son went on isolation.
Mijares and his entire family were also tested positive for COVID-19.
As of this posting, Bacolod City recorded a total of 511 confirmed COVID-19 cases based on records released by the Bacolod City Health Office.
