CLOSE to 13 million families have so far received cash assistance covered under the long overdue second tranche of the government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP).

As of this posting, the Department of Social Welfare and Development claims to have disbursed to 12,930,324 someP77.4 billion even as they hinted at continuing distribution of cash aid to qualified beneficiaries across the country, including the waitlisted families.

Interestingly, waitlisted families, who were not included in the first tranche, are set to receive P16,000 corresponding to two tranches of the SAP while original family beneficiaries who already received their first tranche last April to May will receive their second tranche of P8,000.

The government had earlier targeted to finish the distribution of SAP’s second tranche by August 15.
